Anderson Announces Funding for Area Fire, EMS Companies
February 12, 2025
HARRISBURG – Rep. Marc Anderson (R-York) announced funding being awarded to emergency responder organizations in the 92nd Legislative District under the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program.
“Our emergency response organizations perform vital work for our communities and this funding helps support those efforts,” said Anderson. “These are critical dollars that help ensure the men and women volunteering their time to help their neighbors have the resources they need to do their jobs safely and efficiently.”
Projects eligible for funding under the grant include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, or reduction of existing debt.
The following is a list of local fire and EMS companies and the amount of their grant awards:
• Dover Area Ambulance Club Inc. - $10,000.
• Dover Township Volunteer Fire Department - $14,600.
• Fairview Township EMS Inc. - $15,000.
• Goldsboro Fire Co. 1 Inc. - $12,663.
• Monaghan Township Volunteer Fire Company - $12,018.
• Newberry Township Fire Department - $13,739.
• Northern York County Fire Rescue and EMS Inc. - $27,676.
• Susquehanna Fire Co. No. 1 - $12,879.
• Wellsville Volunteer Fire Company - $14,815.
The funding comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature and administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). All funding comes from the proceeds from slot machine gaming, and not General Fund tax revenue.
