PA Property Tax/Rent Rebate Applications Assistance

My office is offering assistance to residents with filling out the state’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program applications for taxes and rent paid in 2024.
Residents wanting assistance with filling out applications should bring the following:
• Driver’s license or photo ID.
• All income statements for 2024, including Social Security 1099, disability, pensions, wages, interest, dividends, etc.
• Bank information (account and routing number) for those who would like direct deposit.
• Renters: A signed Rent Certificate from the renter’s landlord (available at the senior centers or my offices).
• Homeowners: Paid property tax receipts from 2024 (spring and fall).
• If the tax receipts list a different name, bring a Life Lease agreement stating the resident can live in the house and is responsible for property taxes.
The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is open to residents age 65 years and older; widows and widowers 50 years and older; and people with disabilities 18 years and older.
Income limits are $45,000 for both homeowners and renters. Applicants should exclude 50% of Social Security when determining income. The maximum rebate is $1,000.
